Limitation Period.
Jurisdictions including Ontario have a two year limitation period after which you action is statute barred with few exceptions. The limitation period is the second anniversary of your accident and injuries. You must commence your lawsuit by the second anniversary, and if you have not retained a lawyer please do so promptly as it also takes time to investigate the claim, obtain documents, and draft the materials to file.
Please note that before we can act for you, there must be a signed retainer in place. Contacting us and communication from you to us and vice versa does not constitute any retainer agreement until one is signed, and we cannot act for you until such time as we have a retainer agreement in place.
